You become a meaner person when you bottle up anger.

Anger may be a direct product of another emotion. In fact, most a times, anger is a secondary emotion. Some people may feel angry because they are grieving someone close to them.

The fact about the matter is that controlling your anger is not an easy feat because anger is intrinsic. People who have struggled with anger issues will be the first to admit that controlling anger isn’t a walk in the park. Anger management is a product of a strong will. But the fact also is that it CAN be done. It has been effectively managed by others and you can effectively manage it as well.

You may not really believe that your anger affects people around you until you ask. It really wouldn’t do much for your self esteem if you walk into a room and people scurry away like frightened rats because of your tendency to get angry all the time.

You can help to identify your anger triggers by focusing on what makes you angry. Whenever you get angry, try and figure out exactly what it is that you are thinking. When you are able to figure out what makes you angry, you can easily control your anger.

Some people can get so angry that they hyperventilate. Usually, when you get angry, there is a sharp increase in your heart rate which cause ragged breathing. To calm down your breathing when you are angry, try and breathe in and out deeply.

How well do you take care of your health? If you think it doesn’t matter as far as anger management is concerned, listen up. Poor health is a fast way to intense anger. If you are not in the habit of exercising regularly, you will feel more stressed out when you are faced with a potentially angering situation. A consistent exercise regimen and excellent health at all times ensures that you are more in control when you are provoked.

Anger does not work in isolation. Once you get angry and you don’t deal with it appropriately, resentment and jealousy may follow. Anger gives birth to a whole line of fresh negative emotions that can destroy a person completely. It is therefore prudent to keep your anger in check always. Thankfully anger management strategies that work now exist. Learn as much as you can about how to manage your anger and you will become a far better person.

Bear in mind that anger is a problem that hounds a lot of people. The sooner you admit that you have an anger issue the faster you can tackle it. Anger can be controlled. Don’t listen to those who say it can’t. They haven’t used the best anger management techniques that are out there.
