What do you do when you have a spare few days off work. Do you stay at home or do you take advantage of one of the many cheap flights available with the low cost airlines and head off for a quick hotel break. These days there are lots of destinations to choose from more and more airports around the UK and Ireland. Airports that were previously unpopular or uneconomical to use are having aircraft arrive from other similar airports all over Europe. The choice of destinations is now larger than they have ever been and you can jet off cheaply by booking a bargain flight then getting some accommodation online and jetting off for the weekend. But going away overseas does have its disadvantages especially if you are short of time. Not all the flights are suitable for an overnight trip in a foreign city. Some flights leave in the early afternoon and by the time you get there and get into the city centre it could be into the early part of the evening. Usually if you leave in the afternoon the return flight is more than likely to be a mid morning one, leaving you just one evening away at your destination. Even if you do stay longer you still lose a large proportion of your trip travelling. Worried about the weather or like the idea of telling everyone you jetted off to a city in Europe somewhere. It does sound impressive to some people unless they do the same as you all the time. Don't overlook the advantages of a UK short break. You can get lots of flights within the UK and Ireland to some really interesting locations and with a greater number of flights you can leave at an earlier time and return on a later flight giving you more time away and not in the airport. There are lots of exciting cities to visit in the UK and Ireland such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, London, Dublin, Manchester and many more. Each destination have it's own unique attractions. Spend more time enjoying your break than sitting in the airport waiting for your flight. Avoid the massive queues to get past security at the airport. You don't have to fly you could drive or book a rail package and get the benefit of a cheap rail ticket and hotel package on a rail break. There are some great hotel breaks such as a murder mystery or a spa break or even to a concert to see your favourite band.
