If you are moving from anywhere within New Zealand to an overseas destination and you are taking your personal effects with you, then please think very seriously before using The Moving Company www.themovingcompany.co.nz and take what they tell you with a grain of salt. I cannot believe for one minute that all moving companies operate in this way so I can only give you my thoughts. The price that they give you is not the total price that you will pay... Don’t for one minute ever expect a returned phone call, you are expected to do all the chasing and running around. When they say it will take 4 – 6 weeks to get your boxes delivered that is a very rough estimate they feel 10 weeks is well within those guidelines, and he was serious when he told me that.
But dealing with The Moving Company was pleasure compared to “Overseas Packers & Shippers” http://www.overseaspackers.com.au Now these people know the real meaning of “I don’t care” Our boxes left Auckland on the 17th January and arrived in Brisbane on the 22nd February. That’s 5 weeks to get over the ditch and its taken another 5 weeks to get from Brisbane to Hervey Bay, That is a 3 hour drive but its going to take 5 WEEKS...... We are talking about personal items, you know, the stuff that you cannot live without. Although Overseas Packers and Shippers would like to think that we should. To give you an idea just how far we have come....
