It is a difficult task to control dust mites. They are regarded as one of the most difficult pests to take out. Being extremely miniature, they cannot be easily seen with the naked eye. As the name suggests, the presence of dust mites is a result of having a large amount of dust inside the house. Dust mites thrive on dust and cause plenty of problems for the people in the house. Hence, controlling dust mites is very important to keep the house clean and healthy. Dust mites are found in the house as a result of cleanliness of the house. If the house is not regularly cleaned, vacuumed or dusted, dust mites get inside the house. A large number of dust mites can trigger diseases like asthma or aggravate it if a member already suffers from the disease. Dust mites look like miniature spiders or ticks and thrive abundantly in hot and humid climate. To keep these dust mites away from the house it is required for the individuals to incorporate the following tasks: 1) Dust regularly. All panels, counters, beddings, sofas, floorings, ceilings and even the far off corners must be regularly cleaned with soft cloth or even a wet cloth in order to get rid of the dust mites. Especially using a wet cloth is the best option. 2) It is recommended to wash bed linen in warm water. It is possible that normal water may not be good enough to destroy the mites present in every fold of the linen. Warm water has the advantage and the mites cannot tolerate the extreme heat and die immediately. 3) If people stay in areas with high humidity levels they must use de-humidifiers to control the humidity levels in the house. The humidity level in the house should be below 60%. 4) It is essential to keep furry animals like pet dogs and cats outside the bedroom, as they are great carriers of dust mites. 5) If the air gets polluted too much, individuals should use air cleaners to remove dust and dust mites. 6) It is essential to use bed covers and pillow covers to keep away the dust and dust mites. The above are just a few of the most common methods to keep dust mites away from the house. Once dust is removed or reduced, dust mites themselves would not be existing within the house.
