We are closing in on an unprecedented decade of digital progress in the Executive Search industry. With the internet hitting critical mass, its clear the traditional approaches may be a thing of the past. However, be careful not to close the door to Executive Search just yet. Some exciting companies are mixing proven principles with cutting edge technology to really change the game over the next decade.
So what now? Where does Executive Search go from here? I envision the next decade being much like the .com bubble in 2001. Majority of your applicant tracking system companies will start consolidating. Due to the downturn in 2008-2009 companies will be forced to turn to agencies to power sharp up ticks in head count.
Recruitment Process Outsourcing, when dealing with recruitment and sourcing is marginally competitive only due to economies of scale. For large heavily matrix driven organizations, a large scale domestic RPO could be a better solution then having a centralized function. However, do not expect industry leading results.
