You can do multiple holes drilling by creating the diameter of the whole and then programming it into the computer; from that point the CNC lathe does the work.
There are different types of CNC machines depending on the job that needs to be accomplished. The better CNC machines can operate in multiple modes from fully manual to completely CNC so you can tailor the machine to the project and task.

There is also the CNC mill which is a special piece of equipment that uses programming along with robotics to ensure accurate results. Once it's programmed, the CNC machine decides which tools for the job and will automatically change the tools when needed. These efficient and reliable pieces of equipment are very expensive but they're built to last a lifetime.
